The Ranting Redneck

.

Somewhere, there is a village missing its idiot.
.
Rope-A-Dope II
.
I've been neglecting the blog a bit- there have been several things to rant about- but the holidays and all, you know. It's time to get back in the saddle.
.
Here we've got a nice shot of Senator Charles Schumer, Democrat from New York. Unless you've lived in self-imposed exile there's no way you didn't already know this publicity whore. God help anyone caught between him and the camera.
.
Once again, this idiot has taken center stage. Once again, he's played right into President Bush's hands. The first part of Operation Rope-A-Dope was the nomination of Harriet Myars. I'll concede that it caused a little tiff amongst the Republican base but the way the media played it up, you'd think the G. O. P. disintegrated like Darth Vader's Death Star.
.
The President's numbers dropped and short-sighted Democrats were celebrating, too dumb to realize they were being suckered. Bush was merely causing a rift to reign in middle of the road Republicans like John McCain so everyone would be on the same page when it came time to support the real nominee: Judge Alito. I predicted all of this in an earlier post.
.
Yesterday, in full view of the cameras of course, Chuck Schumer proceeded to make a complete ass of himself, again, on several cable news channels in front of the entire country. He appeared to be, fully, the obstructionist, egomaniacal, conceited, condescending, arrogant asshole he is- voluntarily, during an election year. I'm betting Bush and Rove were viewing Fox News all day, high-fiving during the commercial breaks, as one oblivious Democrat mark after the next, sheeplike, herded into the stock yard chute and slaughtered themselves.
.
The real beauty of it all is that President Bush didn't have to stoop to their level. He's put himself above the fray by appearing to be something besides just another mud-slinging politician. He merely had to expose these morons for who they really are.
.
Anyone who had a television set yesterday had to wonder why they were trying so desperately to crucify Judge Alito. They likely even felt a bit sorry for him as he was railed against for hours for no reason at all by people who hold - at best- a tiny fraction of the intellgence level he himself possesses. Certainly no one was impressed. Certainly there wasn't one Dem who came off as even slightly likeable. Surely, no one is feeling the urge to pull the lever for one of these people in the coming elections.
.
Whether you like President Bush or not, you've got to admire his political prowess. Rather, you've got to wonder how his opponents ever managed to pull off being elected to begin with.

.
14:57. . . 14:58. . . 14:59. . . Time's up!
..
Now here's a nice shot of the nation's "grief-stricken" mother, smiling away as the cameras roll. Fortunately, this appears to also be her last hurrah, the swan song, the final chapter in a whirlwind glory-grabbing publicity tour.
.
Once the lefties who appointed this broad the patron saint of liberalism realized exactly how stupid she is they completely disassociated themselves. They then hauled her out to the curb with the rest of the failed attempts to attack President Bush. Audiences in attendance at her speaking engagements now number in the 2's and 3's.
.
I've seen this idiot's face on the tube more times than I can count. Heard her stutter through speech after speech. Between all the mangled syntax I heard the name "Bush" hundreds of times but do you know the name of her son? I didn't either. That's right, we're in the umpteenth day of the Cindy Sheehan Show and we've never heard the name of her son. Not from Cindy, not from anyone.
.
His name was Casey Sheehan; an honorable soldier and patriot who volunteered to defend freedom and from all I've heard about him he wouldn't agree with his mother's actions in the least. It's time to honor is sacrifice by letting him rest in peace.

Yikes! Good thing it's not a beauty contest.
.
Rope-A-Dope?
.
If you're reading this and you're a liberal, put down the hooka pipe, pause the DVD of "Chicago" and hear me out.
.
Imagine for a second that George Bush isn't stupid. If you can't do that, at least admit to yourself that he's smarter than you or anyone you voted for because ya'll have been slinging shit for years and none of it's stuck yet.
.
Next, concerning the Miers nomination and her subsequent withdrawal, pretend that you've been played. Now quit pretending because it's happening. A few of you have figured this out, Harry Reid being one of them.
.
Most left wing idiots are tripping over each other to take credit for the withdrawal because they believe Bush has been left with egg on his face. They think his base has turned on him. Libs who are retarded to a lesser degree know otherwise. He assumed the media would spin it up and they played right into his hands, AGAIN. To the contrary, Bush has been COUNTING on his base to react the way they did the whole time.
.
The small rift that was created in the GOP by the Miers nomination was a wake up call to fence riders like John McCain. I'm predicting the next name that comes out of the hat will be decidedly conservative. McCain and his little band of McRepublicans will be forced to jump on board or else they'll bear the full brunt of blame from Republican supporters.
Because no one wants to ride in that hot seat, everyone will be on board and fully supportive of the next nominee.
.
Effectively, Bush caused a little derision in the first quarter in order to rein in the left-leaning Republicans in the final two minutes of the game. Sometimes you gotta get a little mud on your jersey to score a touchdown.
.
That's life in The Beltway.

Dumbass of the Month, Group Nominee: Italy
.
.
I don't have anything against the WOPs, I love the food, the people- except Mussolini, the climate, the country, the whole pizza pie. It's number one on my list of countries to visit that I haven't already seen and I will go one day soon.

I've always thought that Charles Schumer was the biggest idiot on the face of the planet but some Italian lawmakers might have him beaten. Check out: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=%2Fnews%2F2004%2F03%2F07%2Fwlob07.xml&secureRefresh=true&_requestid=104109

We don't need anymore laws. We need one law. Ban STUPIDITY!

Dumbass of the Month Nominee: FEMA
.
Before anyone goes and gets themselves in a lather let me say, as a citizen of Louisiana, that I don't believe the Federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina- or any other hurricanes for that matter- was particularly slow nor inadequate.
..
I have placed the vast majority of the blame, firstly, on the people of New Orleans who elected to put themselves in danger for a chance at a free shopping trip, secondly, on their moronic mayor, and lastly, on our deer-in-the-headlights- governoress Kathleen Blank stare.
..
Now, it's FEMA's turn. I heard this on the radio and immediately thought, "This is immpossible to believe." After a little Googling, sure enough, I've found it's true. You can read some of the story here: http://www.ksat.com/news/5104394/detail.html
.
There can be no excuse for stone-walling local authorities who are trying to identify evacuees who are convicted sex offenders but that is exactly what FEMA was trying to do. Under the guise of their right to privacy, FEMA stated it wouldn't release the names of evacuees who were suspected sex offenders. Once again, political correctness trumps reality.
.
The only comforting thing that came of this nonsense is that I haven't been alone in my thinking. FEMA's refusal to cooperate caused quite an uproar. Remember, this is Texas we're talking about folks, not Vermont. FEMA officials now claim they have been cooperating the whole time. If that's so, why did Bexar county DA Susan Reed have to go to court in order to get the names?
.
This goes back to one of my original posts. I stated that while it was gratifying to see so many people helping those in need, those same people might regret it one day. If you've ever been to New Orleans, especially the Ninth Ward, you'd have barricaded your door rather than open it. As many of the generous blue state liberals are now finding out, most of those people are the scum of the earth. You wouldn't be comfortable with them in your neighborhood let alone your house.
